 Project Example: J2 Racetrack Rehabilitation Project

Focus: Revegetation and erosion control

Location: Fort Irwin, CA

Habitat Type: Creosote bush–white bursage desert scrub

Plant Installation: 1,500 plants on 13 acres

Erosion Control: 22 miles of road rehabilitation; 1,200 feet of desert wash

RECON successfully implemented a large-scale desert scrub ecological restoration project on Fort Irwin, consisting of the installation of 1,500 site-sourced container plants ÑÇÐǹú¼Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾in 13 acres of degraded habitat. The plants were intermixed ÑÇÐǹú¼Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ 1,200 feet of jute and gabion erosion control structures associated ÑÇÐǹú¼Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ the desert wash components of the ecosystem. In addition, RECON rehabilitated 22 miles of degraded desert road to alleviate gullying, ruts, and erosion.
